"NEW ROBOT TODAY RESPONDS TO EMOTION!"
"NEW ROBOT HAS TAKEN DOCTORS PLACES!!!"
What's all the fuss? They are just robots. People think robots can be...human! The thought is absurd, but in the modern naturalistic world, robots are people. Nowadays, the thought of an "intelligent" robot is common. In science magazines, they push making AI robots. A video was released on youtube talking about how robots are taking jobs away from people.
We already have quite a few "intelligent" robots. Robots that give prescriptions, hold "conversation", learn (from you) to do tasks, and deliver food in hotels are considered "intelligent". They are...to a degree. Say the programmer forgot to tell the robot to say, "Hello!" when greeted.
WHAT WOULD IT SAY?!
Who knows? Maybe confuse "Hello, robot" and reply, "I'm on it! Placed order for Jello Pot." The machines don't have a BRAIN! (Important!!!) They don't think! They just follow the code that was written for them. The programmers who think robots can have "emotion" run into hours, days, weeks, months, and years trying to write code for every single emotion out there that it should display when exposed to different circumstances! The robot doesn't have a brain! It just follows code that was given to them!
If the programmer didn't have the heart and endurance (like me) to program out every emotion, say he just assumed that robots were intelligent and only programmed a "happy" little bot. Well...say that this robot came to help in a car accident and the people were hurt and crying. You know where THIS ones going!
THE FICKLE ROBOT WOULD START LAUGHING!
That would be the end of the robot's "life".
We must realize that God didn't make us like robots. He gave us a free will to choose. He gave us the gift of choice and discernment. He didn't program us to react in different ways at different times! Choice is what makes people, people. With a cute, harmless robot, the robot isn't intelligent. It doesn't have a mind of its own. But the one who made the robot and coded the robot is intelligent. Without the background intelligence, the robot would be fit for junk!
