Intuitive Eyeglasses

Have you ever heard the analogy of a worldview comparing it to a pair of glasses? Your worldview is the way through which you see/understand/react to things.

If we continue this analogy, our intuition are our eyes themselves.

I'll be picking up the discussion left off from the previous article, and answer the question I posed at the very end.

 

Well, then you might be asking "Why are brilliant scholars atheists? What about this 'childlike intuition'? What's all that about?'"

 

Ok. Great question. It turns out that tricky questions can have simple explanations.

 

Short answer: All people have this intuition NO EXCEPTIONS. That said, let's do a little logic practice...

 

Premise:

Universal Affirmative Statement (A): All people are intuition-havers. (All people have intuition.)

Particular Affirmative Statement (I): Some people are brilliant scholars.

 

Therefore, brilliant scholars are intuition-havers. (Therefore, brilliant scholars have intuition.)

 

Yes, yes I can hear it already. "What?? All people are intuition-havers? What kind of a world is this?" Look. Notice how I put a sentence in "()s." Those sentences mean the same exact thing as what the weird statement is saying. If there are any logic students out there, then this will make sense and there will be no need to continue clarifying.

 

Like I mentioned before, in this Colorado Chapter series, I'll be referencing to Douglas Axes' presentation a couple times. This is one of them. I absolutely have to give it to this guy for this extraordinary analogy! Super clever, and I want to show it to you in case you weren't able to make it to the presentation. Again, this is not my own work and I will take no credit for having created this analogy.

 

Let's talk about a quick little story. Here's Bob:

 

Bob is a scholar who studies molecular biology and is running experiments to reconstruct primordial soup. He's a smart dude. He, with his incredimazing degrees in school, looks down upon us normal, teenagers, kids, and even adults, who are just normal-sized brain typa bunch.

We're down low...sort of "bare-minimum" educated people, while studies and schooling have brought these atheist scholastics to the top of the world of knowledge and science.

Well wrong. That's only how everyone sees it. Let me encourage you and fuel you to feel like you are smart enough, and you already have what it takes to create a substantial defense to The Faith.

What's really going on is something like this...

 

Ok. Let me CLARIFY some things before a hundred bajillion assertions are made.

 

This is not propaganda that's trying to say all atheist scholars are stupid people they are below average. NO NO NO. Hear me out. The studies, the complicated research, the extravagant terms, the wild theories, the attempts and explanations for Darwinian evolution digs these scholars into holes. They are basically constantly having to work hard to keep digging down to be able to ignore their intuition (which they have).

 

In the meanwhile, all of us "normal" people are at normal level and recognize that there must be something behind all of creation and what we see. It's hard work to ignore what's built into us. God created us in His image...this also includes having an understanding that there must be something beyond the physical world.
